ROBERT GEISLER
Robert Geisler was born in Hanford, CA on January 1, 1931 to Theodore and Goldie Geisler. His grandparents were Amos and Lydia DuBois.
Mr Geisler grew up in the Boy Scouts, starting as a Cub Scout, then Boy Scout, then Senior Scout. He attended five scout jamborees, the last in 1950, right after he graduated from Hanford High School. The scouts traveled through 24 states and Canada. Fifty-thousand scouts descended on Valley Forge where they have the best time possible.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1950 and five months later was in combat in Korea at Incheon.
After returning to civilian life, he continued supporting Scouting as an Assistant Scout Master, then as Scout Master. He graduated from Fresno State, California with a B.A. in Education, then earned his teaching credential. He Taught all areas of shop, 6th grade through High school for 26 years.
Mr. Geisler retired in 1980 and now uses his time (which he still has little of) making toys. He has one daughter, Betsy Camp, and one son, Bill Sterling. Most recently, Mr. Geisler flew to Washington D.C to visit the memorials with the Central Valley Honor Flight #13.
