If you were at the Hanford Market today downtown, you may have noticed a bucket truck working on the 110+ year old flag pole at the corner of Irwin and 8th. The pole stands 60+ feet in the air and offered views of downtown not seen in most of our lifetimes. This was all in preparation for the upcoming September 11th event in downtown Hanford where Our Heroes Dreams, along with AMVETS Post 1893, and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary will be honoring Kings County’s First Responders by rededicating the flagpole to them.
Event kicks off at 11:00 am, and the American Flag that was flown over Washington DC on the 4th of July going up at 11:11 am.
Photos taken by our own VCRC Commander Darren Clayton while holding on for life 60+ feet over Civic Park.
